Location Highlights
Merced offers access to both city conveniences and outdoor destinations in Central California. Merced is about 2 hours from Yosemite National Park and is served by Amtrak San Joaquins and the ACE rail connection through regional transit links. The city is home to the Merced Multimodal Transportation Center and Applegate Park Zoo, and it offers a practical base for exploring the San Joaquin Valley. Lake Yosemite is about 8 miles from central Merced, and UC Merced adds a college-town presence with campus events and walking trails nearby.
