Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer for a very long-term W2 contract position in Herndon, VA (Washington D.C. area). This role will support independent verification and validation (IV&V) efforts for our network infrastructure projects.

Pay Range: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour on W2 basis; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

This Network Engineering role will will support independent verification and validation (IV&V) efforts for our network infrastructure projects. This role will require deep technical expertise in Cisco technologies, leverages strong analytical skills, and independently assesses network designs and implementations to ensure they consistently meet rigorous quality, performance, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Validation and Verification (IV&V) activities on complex network architectures, including design reviews, configuration audits, and performance validation.
• Develop and execute comprehensive IV&V test plans, procedures, and scripts to assess network integrity, reliability, and compliance.
• Analyze network designs and implementations for adherence to industry standards, organizational policies, and project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with network architects, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to identify risks, recommend mitigations, and validate corrective actions.
• Provide expert technical guidance on Cisco routing, switching, security, and other network technologies throughout the IV&V lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and validate network issues uncovered during testing, providing detailed root cause analysis and remediation recommendations.
• Prepare detailed IV&V reports, documentation, and presentations for technical teams and executive leadership.
• Support audit and compliance efforts by demonstrating thorough IV&V processes and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Meet qualifications for an U.S. Security Clearance.
• Provide technical guidance on Cisco routing, switching, security, and other network technologies throughout the Validation and Verification (IV&V) lifecycle.
• Hands on experience with Validation and Verification (IV&V) activities on complex network architectures, including design reviews, configuration audits, and performance validation.
